How do other cultures celebrate the "New Year"?
In Thailand, on the 13th April, they celebrate Songkran. It was considered the beginning of the New Year until 1940 when the date shifted to the 1st January.
Songkran is still celebrated, and is one of the largest festivals in Thailand. The most iconic feature of this festival is the water fights that occur throughout the streets!
